Ok here we go, I just started leasing 27 aces to bowhunt and have encountered a problem. 500 feet before the state highway the lease ends and that 500 feet is owned by a fella that isn't in anyway a sportsman. Once he learned that I was hunting the land he came right to me (on to the property I lease) and explained to my that he hunts shotgun on that 500 feet and wants me gone before shoygun season opens. Since our talk he has tied whole salmon to the tree's on the property border and placed scarecrows along the line along with his4x8 sheets of plywood posted signs. So my question is how do I fix this ??????

I don't know about your state, but in most states you can't hunt within 500 feet, or some distance similar, from a state or federally maintained road.
My first call would be to the local law enforcement and find out what the exact rules are and let them enforce the law.

I am not sticking up for this guy andI would agree he is being an ass.He can't tell you what to do on the property you lease but also from what you say heis doingonhis property is not illegal either as long as he is doing it on his property. Tied fish to his own trees, put up scarecrows on his own property, posted big signs. Sounds like a smorgusboard of targets though. He has no intention of hunting that land but it is his land.

Yes, we had a neighbor that used to drive up and down the fence line when we tried to hunt. He did it oneday when the chief of police was hunting with us. He went over there and charged them with harassment.

ahankster got it right. If you want to continue hunting this land (in peace) don't do anything irrational, even though we would all want to. This guy sounds like a loser, let the authorities handle it. In the meantime try finding another spot to hunt-just in case. With such few acres he could wreck the whole season for you in a very indescrete way. Might not be worth the effort. Jerk.

Ifcatching themis a probability,, I would say there are laws pertaining "wanton waste",,, and very possibly if there are possession limits for fish in your state,, he may be well over his possession limits.....
I know where I live you cant even pick up dead salmon after theyre done spawning,, they must be left too rot in the river... you can be charged for as little as touching them....
Id call the C.O.!!

Sorry you are going through this crap. It ticks me off too because it's unrighteousness. There are a few problems here...
1. is there anyway you can get your money back from the lease?
2. I don't see how any of those things can effect 27 acres. He simply wasted money on the plywood. The animals will be usedto the scarecrow and I'm sure they have smelled dead things before.
Since the landowner whom you leased is making money off of you, it looks like it should be more of a concern for him. As you may want to try and get your money back.
My friend ..I wear prayer bracelets on my wrist to remind me to pray for certain peolple. I'm putting one on for you. This bothers me alot. I can't stand bullies and know that God can work this mess out.
1Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psalm 37 1-4
OK ...now it's in God's hands
