Default Tonights hunt- questions

Well I just got back form hunting- I went out at about 3:15 and sat until dark (6:45) About 40 minutes before dark I look to my left and the was a huge deer standing there eating with a small doe next to it- not sure if it was a doe or a buck because it had its head stuck down in long grass. I would have had a PERFECT shot if tree branches werent in the way. So I sit and wait- then I look over again and I see its rearend just entering a corn field... I am wondering what call I would use to try and bring it back in if it was a doe? Buck grunt/growl or a doe bleat?

Pretty exciting night for me since this is only the 4th deer that I have seen in 12 times of hunting...Now tomorrow I am going to go out there and cut that damn branch off that was in my way...

oh yeah- plus they were down wind so my scent removing skills must have paid off- I guess all of those hours of my clothes hanging up outside paid off.

I wouldn't cut to much if it was a buck you want as much cover as you can get.

Man that " If only" stuff will wear ya out. I've gone over my choke over and over and over. At least you didn't screw up a shot opportunity. Take the positives and be proud of them, learn from the negatives.
