Default Too late to put up ladder stand???

I was thinking about going out to some property that I have permission to hunt on and putting up a ladder stand. Is this too late in the season for them to get used to it?? I was thinking of putting it up today and not returning until November 2. I already have a ground blind set up on this property. Just thinking a stand would help with the scent issue. Even tho I washed all my clothes and spray earth scent before I go out.

If you de-scent it and brush it in slightly you should be alright.

You'll be fine. I put one up last year and two days later I arrowed one from it.

There should be no problems with doing it now. I would rather try to put it up and take the chance than not put it up at all. I will continually move sites and put up stands during the season to meet the need to change tactics or areas until the very end of bow season.

my neighbor and i put one up during the middle of the day and then arrowed one that evening. it depends alot on the deer and how well you brush it in.

You'll be fine.

Once while on Army leave I scouted. hammered and nailed a quick platform in a tree beside I 95 in Maryland..about 100yds from the interstate and killed a buck the next day. I saw 2

Last year I hung my Summit in Missouri at 8:30 PM ..Next day at 7:30 AM I shot my deer.

I think you will be fine. hey ..looking at your picture I believe you can get into a Summit safety harness. It comes free when ya buy a stand.
You can't go wrong man. I put my harness over my t-shirt. That saves a few inches. My other upper body clothes goes over the harness. Fits nicely .

I routinely move my ladder stands as the patterns of the deer change and many times the first time I hunt in a new location I often have deer come in. They often are curious, but they never stare at the ladder stand, think oh no hunter! and bolt.

Also, try and arrange it so that you don't stick out like a sore thumb, or they will do the above.

Now if I was after old mossyback, I might be more careful.
