Default Missed a real trophy yesterday am

Yesterday morning about nine oclock while on stand a coyote came through. An early gun season is on and it appeared he might have been pushed because he was kind of sneaking through at a trot. I grabbed my bow and made a sound to stop him. He was about fifteen yards out headed straight away in some heavy under brush when I let fly. The arrow buried in the dirt about three inches to the right of his chest. I'll tell you he didn't leave at a trot!

Anyway, this was one beatiful coyote. Unlike any I've seen before and I already have one with my bow. This coyote was dark gray/charcoal colored. Looked like a miniature wolf(we don't have wolves in our area) and would have made a beatiful rug.

At least I got to see it.

Happy Hunting
Dan

That's too bad Dan, Here's the only yote I've ever shot at with my bow.

I've seen others but never had the chance to send an arrow. I have 3 to date, this one with my bow, a rifle yote from the same tree and a shotgun yote that messed up two longbeards for me.

I want one... I would probably freak out if one came by me, but I would shoot at it anyway. We are just now starting to see more sign of them the last two years, however, hubby's gutpile was still there after a week??? Odd, but I know they are there. We were hunting last Saturday morning and they started howling.... and they were close! We were hoping, but they never came by. I think my husband is planning on hunting them later in the year, when gun season is closed for deer. I would LOVE to have a yote mount to add to our outdoors room!
