Why waste venison on Jerky and such?

im not a big fan of deer burger either. dad and i are the only venison eaters in the house. we can crush steaks and chops all day every day. but ground meat sits in the freezer..we dont cook with it because noone else will eat it..and why eat burgers when you can have steak?? we get everything else made into bologna, a couple diffrent sausage types and kilbasa...now THAT is making use of venison IMO!! i would never pay what 5-10$ a pound of fresh meat to get back a little baggie of jerky...

all im saying is jerky/slimjim whatever you wanna have made with seasoning and domestic fat added... tastes the same as when made out of beef,pork or whateveryou can buy from the market...if you dont believe me try it for yourself.
why waste clean wild meat on these things when you can have them made out of domestic animals and it tastes exactly the same...and have more stewmeat and burger out of your harvest

i'm probly well over a grand already...this year
lets see 1000$$$ devided by say 75lbs of meat
over 13$ per pound without butcher cost for jerky

If it tastes the same, you're (he's) doing it wrong.I'd be willing to bet he's just selling you his own beef jerky. Which in that case, yeah, don't bother.
I use a dry cure to make my jerky and a dehydrator. It retains a lot more of the meats own flavor as well as the spices I add. You can definitely tell the difference that way.
I was actually hoping that I might get more than one deer this year so I can make jerky out of an entire deer! I LOOOOVE jerky!
