Default getting a shot

ok guys...heres a question that came up with me...being my first year of archery ive never worried about stopping a deer or worried about them being alert. with a rifle i usually just BAH at them..they freeze and its all over for them. ive done that successfully out to 150yds. now with a bow ive learned NOT to shoot at alert deer. my team helped me out already and im on track...but looking for more and curious to as what you guys do. say you got a deer coming through in range moving pretty good. trailing a doe or kicked out by another hunter. hes a shooter and he goes behind trees IN RANGE. you draw..hes still trotting/walking. the BAH will alert him and probably have him stare right at you. dont wanna shoot at an alert deer so what do you do? how do you get your shot and smoke him?? kinda hard to make a deer sit still without making it alert that has does on the mind or just been kicked out of his bed...is it possible?? this is a situation i will almost always be faced with at home. generally if i see a deer itll be kicked up by someone else or itll be trailing. the deer at home are truely pretty nocternal till late season for the most part. theres just so many corn and grain fields that they dont need to eat oaks or browse till the fields are picked and gone. even still they feed in there heavy. i tried staging areas and they dont stage. they bed nearby and after dark the fields are loaded with deer. so how do you get your shot??

BAH, not loud, but loud enough to stop him/her. Deer stops in shooting lane, arrow flies, deer dies.

That is an intriguing question, mauser. You are right, that kind of contradicts what we learn. I've done it though, it works fine.

Where were you aiming? If you aim for a double lung and the deer ducks, your gonna hit high and get a bad blood trail and harder recovery. Aim low for the bottom third of the deer so if he ducks you take out lungs and if he doesnt, you get heart.

well so far i havent stoped any.

Well one i had i did a bahh and it turned away really fast with no shot.

But the 2 does that i have taken have been stoped while i shot them with me doing nothing to make them stop.
And my buck he came walking up at a decent walking speed and i tried to stop him but it didnt work so i just put my pin on the middle of his shoulder and let the arrow fly. ended up hitting him right be hind the shoulder. dubble lung.
