Ethical or not?

I don't understand why they choose these 3 particular oak trees. The woods are loaded with them, but they always seem to come to these over the last week.
I have dogs in my yard and bark like crazy before they get close to the house and it doesn't seem to bother them. I have been out on the porch before and looked up and seen deer glaring me down at 50 yards. They are by no means tame, they will no accept any type of human being near them. Their tolerance of scent is a little higher however.

That's what my dad did. Shot an 8 point that was rubbing on the small maple in our front yard, spread the limbs in the front pine tree and sat there waiting for the buck, he got it too
go for it!

I shot a doe out of a stand less than 20 yds from my house. They are wild and not fenced, its fair.
The stand is in the tree off the corner of the house where it forks. Kinda hard to see.

Why waste the time with the stand? I'd shoot them from my bedroom windowduring a comercial timeout from the football game.
I once was looking at a piece of property in the mountains to buy. It was in a private community that the bylaws didn't allow hunting. Imagine the bucks up there today. If I do get that itch, I'm going to buy there specifically for bow hunting. Before you all call that poaching, remember these are the bylaws not state laws. There has to be a few letters passed back and fourth for each instance before it can go to civil court.

Check your local regulations first. If you're in a development like I'm going to be, it may not be permitted to fire a weapon...of any kind...where you live.
I'm going to have this same "problem"...if you can call it that, in a couple of weeks when we move into our new house. It's in a development, but most folks have over 2.5 acres and there is a lot of undisturbed timber. Deer everywhere and I'm the only hunter. I have already been warned by the neighbors that they are "the neighborhood deer" and I better not shoot them. We have already seen them crossing our property right through our front yard. Neighbors or not, I have no problems and plan to shoot one...or more if I can get permission from the DNR folks based on the fact that they are destroying our plants...which they do. If I get that permission, I'll shoot one out of my garage if I can.

Well NavyDeerGuy, you may be adding another chapter to the term "Ugly Hunter" with the neighborhood. And, since you only have 2 acre lots you got a very limited shooting funnel I'd say. Maryland law requires you be no closer than 150 yards of an occupied building when discharging a weapon. Add to the fact your deer is going to run and more than likely end up on a neighbors lawn, well... it isn't going to be pretty. You know Maryland, they'll want an environmental study before they'll issue you a permit. And guess what, they don't issue depredation permits for shrubbery, flowers and bushes..... only for farm crops and usually on 50 acres or more. Yup, with Maryland treehuggers in full force, I figure your only option is a punji pit or night hunting with infrared lights.[8D] I can see it now.... "Navy guy gone whack-0 isassulted by Maryland Treehuggers"(Bambi could not be saved)

Boy I'm on the fence on this one..Ethical maybe, Legal? You would know your local regs better than I.
SO I guess You could do that and hunt from your front yard, but is it hunting? Would you be proud of your pursuit and abilities ?

Now where I'm going to be moving, you can shoot out the window and get away with it.[8D][8D] When I was a kid we had rabbits galore around, but they didn't travel above ground much during the day. I used to climb out my bedroom window onto the roofat night with the 22 and blink at bunnies against the snowy background. It was cool and I'd get some. I remember my mom and dad would usually shut me down after a few rounds for the night. One night I was having a run of bad luck and had missed 2 or 3. I went down stairs and grabbed the 20 guage. Mom and Dad were in bed when I touched it off from the roof top next to their bedroom window. They just had NO sense of humor but did appreciate the meat. We had a large family and no money. We lived high when game was plentiful.
