By used, I mean pawed up and secreted on. I don't think a dominant buck necessarily keeps other bucks off his scrape! This is one of those subjects that can be tossed around "till the cows come home".

Thanks ghemry
Good post alot of useful information , nice to a good discussion in here.
I beleave that I might have a primary scrape just 20 yards from my Dead Does Point stand , the reason why I say that is because it was there last year in the late season and its located in the middle of the oaks .
I hope thats the case this year , I know theres a big 10 maybe 11 pointer around.

Yes we can, I do not consider that using a scrape. I consider that to be a young deer investigating a scrape. Because he is going to wonder off and might not come back. Young deer do not have an area they control. They just wonder around, LOL Yes a young deer will come and pawn the scrape. Differnce of defination between you and I, neither of us are wrong, we just look at it different.

Another dominant buck may come and try and take the area over, when this happens get your plain ticket to California, Heff is going to call and invite you to the playboy pen, you are just that lucky!!! Here in MI that is a rarity, LOL

Yes,I agree on the "control" concept. It's just that the big boy doesn't really have a fence around his scrapes.
