I normally shoot standing but this morning I tried shooting from a chair. My shots were at least 2" low and my draw felt long.I was shooting on the level and found it quite difficult to do comfortably, but I don't know why everything felt so different. What gives?Ron

I have practiced so much shooting from both sitting and standing positions that I shoot the same from both. It is so thick here hunting in Georgia that now I take most of my shots sitting down. I hunt out of a Summit Python stand and ladder stands.

I had trouble the first couple of times too even smacked my leg with the botom limb of the bow on release once. thats a feeling I wont soon forget lol. its possible that your draw is too long but more than likely you just need to give it a while. try shooting from your knees too its all good practice. check your form when you are sitting are you sitting striaght at the target or slightly off center like you would be when standing. as for shooting low its probably form also. you may leaning forward slightly. at least thats what I was doing

Their is a good chance your draw is too long.A seated positions has to have a bow that fits you to be made easily but if the bow is right can be executed exactly the same as a standing shot.I will almost always shoot a deer from a seated position and prefer it in a stand,I am more comfortable like that when hanging on the side of a tree.I do practice that way and shoot a few tough man shoots, where you might have too sit on the ground and lean out, those require equipment that is right and a level.
Poundage is another issue,if you can't sit in a chair and raise your legs and still draw the bow, then the poundage is most likely too high.
The draw would be my guess.
Just some food for thought.

Sounds like you are anchoring to high up on your face from where you normally do. What helps me is centering the pin in the peep as I normally do. To tell you the truth, I actually would like to be able to take all my hunting shots sitting down. Much less movement. Only shots that you can't take, are to the right for a right handed archer, and of course, directly behind you. Anything to my left, straight out, or even a little to the right is getting shot sitting down.
