Anybody got opinions on Strong-Bilt stands
The local Bass Pro has a very roomy Strong-Bilt Warrior hang-on stand on sale cheap. They also have a set of 20' climbing sticks by them cheap as well. Do any of you have an opinion on them. I have only used a climber and never owned a hang-on, but would like one. This thing looks nice and is very roomy. A little heavy, but my Ol' Man is no lightweight. The sticks look fine except for needing some tread tape for the rungs. Any experience out there?

This is a good sturdy lock on stand
and I have used mine for about 5
years now. I didnt like the
chain, (noisy, not tight, etc.) so i bought
a adjustable strap to tighten it to the tree.
Good stand for the price in my opinion.
(Also take a cushion to sit on as the seat
will wear on you after an hour or so.

Have you got the Warrior model? It has a strap instead of a chain already, and the seat looks really comfy as it is.

I don't remember what model I bought, but it was the hand-climber, without the rail, and with the thick foam seat.
It's a little heavy, but adding shoulder straps makes it very managable. The thick seat can be a pain to climb with, but once you're up it's extremely quiet, stable, and comfortable.

I have 2 stick ladders and 2 ladder stand from strong built and have never had a problem with any of them. I would like to buy one of their fixed stands just have not gotten around to it.

I just bought three of them. They are pretty nice. I bought them for next year. Yes, they are heavy, but when you are 240 pounds, that extra heavyness makes you feel better. Do not believe the 350 pound weight capaicity though, they are rated at 250 pounds. Also, they are made in China. I didn't know till I got them. FWIW.

The only thing I have from strongbilt is their strap-on ladders (3 piece). No aircraft aluminum here I guarantee. I used 3 or 4 bungee cords to keep them from banging together, but my real complaint was their weight. These 3 sections weighed around 30 pounds! OK at first, but some of my walks in are 20-25 minute walks. They're set-up now at a stand for the entire season. Consider the weight, but if it's on your back, it won't be as bad as carrying in your hands.

I got the stand last night, but have yet to get it out of the box. I also got the 20' sticks and they only weigh 20#, so apparently they have made some improvements in that category.
BobCo-where did you see the 250# limit instead of the 350# advertised?

It was through one of their sales catalogs. I called RedHead customer service and complained and they confirmed that it was their mistake. Since I ordered three of them, they gave me a gift certificate.
The 250# limit was on a sticker on the very front of the stand.
