Default ThermaCell Question

Ok, for all of you guys that are using one of these while you are out bow hunting, where are you setting it while you are in the tree stand? Do you take it right in your stand with you? Or are you setting it on the ground someplace near your tree?

take it to your stand. just lay it on your foot platform and let it "waft" up around you or strap it to one of the stand rails or the tree itself.

Strap it to your stand or as close to you as you can. If it is windy then it won't do much good.

I'll either lay it down on my tree stand platform or hang it nearby. There is a slot on the back of it that you can run a nylon or plastic tie rap in..... I just make a loop so I can hang it on various limbs, knobs, hookor even my camera arm. The thing is simply great at repelling skeeters.

I bought a holster for mine, strapped it to my quiver belt, then used it in a 3-d shoot today. Never even saw a mosquito.

I bought a bow holder that bolts to the platform and sticks out from the side, its supposed to hold the bottom limb of the bow. Well, I don't trust it to hold my bow, I can just picture the bow taking a big dive from it. I just started putting my thermacell on it though, perfect.

It only has like a 15 foot diameter protection area and wind can reduce that. Take it up the tree. Strap it to a limb, your stand or something. You want it laying flat with the face up. You could probably also take up a screw in step or two and rest it on them.
