I shot my First elk

Guys, lets drop the age card.
Not boasting or anything, but I think I've proved that younger members can be just as mature if not more so than some of the older members.
Just because Squirell disagrees doesn't mean he's entirely wrong. We're all entitled to our opinions, age not being a factor. He wasn't the only one to disagree with the shot the original topic starter took, he just happens to be the youngest. So please, I'm asking you to stop bashing him based soley on his age.
Agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I don't shoot fawns so can't really say I'm happy you did it. But, if you're happy... ah.... forget it. I honestly believe there's no way I could do that. I don't care if the hunt cost me $10,000 and it was the last hour. That puppy is walking.

you wish it was my bed time bucko. Bionic i understand that i havent gone elk hunting but i as a person dont like to see that. it's just me. and, i can bet the farm i'm going to shoot a deer with a bow this year. THE FARM! thanks bionic, i needed put in check by somone i actually like to listen to
My only thoughts on this is that while we all have different goals while hunting, there is no need for some of the people on this board to ever criticize someone ona legally killed animal. I will shoot a few does this year for meat, and there will be times when I will be hunting only for a trophy buck....

Man...what has this board come to? You have Boy Named Sue ridiculing stinkbelly for missing a shot and shooting again.
Dont sweat it. Boy named sue, aka stealthy, aka datamax, aka everthing he can come up with,,,, simply ridicules everyone. He must be god, because he knows all the answers.
It doesn't. Sorry.
To all the posts that say "good eating " ...... he didn't eat it.
Theres nothing wrong with killing a small elk, of a deer with spots. In fact they're better eating truth be told.
But this elk, that he killed after 7 years of futility and after seeing a bull, was limping, he took long shots at it, and in the end he tossed the meat anyway.
So yeah, call me a skeptic. You drive/fly how many miles, take how much vacation, spend how much money and you end up shooting a calf thats crippled and so rotten in the hid you throw it away ?
Sorry - it just doesn't all add up to me, something is missing
