For a cut on contact, I shoot magnus stinger 4 blades and for an expandable I'll shoot the G5 Teken 2's....Both are amazing heads that I've never had any problems with.

I think at 55lbs you could still shoot a mech. broadhead. You could drop down to a 75 grain tip, which will give you a little more speedand shoot the RocketMiniblaster, which as a 1 3/4 in cut diameter, an awesome broadhead. But if you want to stick with 100 grain tip try the Rocket Hammerhead, it has 2in cut diameter and I bet they will still open with the poundage you shoot. I have used both of these mech. broadheads and they are awesome.
With all due respect a 2" diameter cut out of a 55 pound bow is a recipe for a wounded deer. He needs a conservative diameter mechanical (1 1/4" max) or a cut on contact fixed blade like magnus stingers.

I personally shoot Magnus Stingers at deer. But there are just many, many good quality heads out there. In no particular order:

G5 Montec
Sonic Heads
Muzzy
Wasp Boss Bullet
Steelforce

Ok....since most of you helped me with my questions about mechs.....( it doesn't seem like I have the power to shoot them ) ....what about a fixed? I shoot a Hoyt MagnaTec...Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 250 arrows..28 1/2 " .......@ 55 lbs.....I have Nap Thunderhead 100 grain....I think I want to try something else.....I heard that Fuse makes a good one that flies well...any comments would be great...my fault for waiting so long, but now my season isa little over a month away, and I need to get this figured out. Thanks, Jay
your useing a good broad head. if your arrow flight with that head is
giving you problems try a different arrow.
in my lifes experence of bow hunting , 33 years ,i have used only 2 different heads, savora and the camlock wasp 100 gr.

Your broadhead is just fine but most out there now are in most respects "pretty good"
I have used Montec, Muzzy and Stingers in recent years.

Try giving the Montecs a go. I have been very pleased so far.
