If anyone can give me their opinion I would greatly appreciate it. I hunt a corn and soybean field. I have 2 stands on two fencelines. I have no woods to hunt but they are around. In fact the stand that I just hung last week is by an old apple orchard and it looks very thick in there. I don't want to go in because I'm afraid I'll scare or bump whatever is in there. The other day we had a real light rain and I rattled and grunted a few times. Well I was probally in the stand for about 2 1/2 hrs and was thinking about getting down and going home. I just happened to look up and could see a BIG BUCK(8 pointer) coming out of the lil' wppds with the orchard in it. He was shaking the rain off of him when I saw him. I don't and can't get permission to hunt that area but I have walked by it on the backside. I'm not able to set up by frequntly used trails and I'm trying to be positive but I'm starting to think I'm not going to get one. Also, on the other side of the orchard/lil' woods the field goes down and there is a creek, I walked down there and you can see several trails where they come over and head up that hill to that orchard. My question is, I got some of that HAWGS SCENTS BFF RUT and The other one that says it's better than doe in heat. Do you think I could put some of that stuff on my side of the fenceline and maybe sneek over on the other side and put some scent wicks of it out and maybe draw deer in? I read on the label of one of them that it says you could see results in 3 days but who knows. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I live in Ohio. If that matters. Thanks Paul

Paul44,
are there any active scrapes by where you hunt? are you baiting? are there any signs that deer are feeding in the harvested fields.
the hawgs products are excellent, by far the best available on the market at this time. i use the pre rut, fore head gland, and the bf rut also.
here would be my plan to attract mr. big boy. if you are allowed to feed deer place a pile in the field at a comfortable shooting distance for you. this, hopefully will attract does, inturn the bucks will follow. here in mid michigan the rut is in full swing so placing urine in the scrapes probably will not be productive.
if you see does feeding in the fields then carefully place the urine in the fields in your shooting lanes. if you are in the rut now the bucks are already breeding. you will have to watch to see when the bucks start looking for a new doe to breed. then they will pick up on your scent trails.
remember that if you are placing wicks on other peoples property you are trespassing and would be considered a pocher. thats not cool. the key to bow hunting is "patients". just hang in there, they will come.
remember that when you use scent, make sure you have on latex gloves. human scents will eliminate any action at all on your scent trail.
hope this helps

Thank you my friend for responding!!! My brother has a small farm and he used to feed his goats this corn that was mixed with mollasses and some other nutrients. I have put that stuff in my backyard before and drew several does and a few bucks in. I just never did it at my hunting sight because I figured there was already plenty of food already there(corn and soybeans already picked) I guess I'll just have to try it there too. Thanks Paul
