Has any one tried Razor Ring broadheads? Looking for input on these heads. Lots of people asking about them. I looked at them on their web(www.razorring.com). Has any one run a test?

I looked at those for about .001 of a second and thought no way. Thats a LOT of blade to pass through a rib, hide, etc... thats perpendicular to the direction of travel - You would need a LOT of kinetic energy to do something with it in my opinion.... I wouldnt dare shoot that thing.
Look at steelforce heads........
Just my opinion

I have run some tests on them and in fact took a buck with one. For what it is worth I can't give them a good recommendation. In my opinion the ferrule is weak and it takes an enormous amount of energy to get the head to pass through a deer. At about 15 yards I couldn't have stabbed the buck in a better spot and still did not get a pass through. With the particular setup I was using that day it generates around 60 lbs. of kinetic energy so it isn't by any means below average in that department. I did recover the buck he only ran bout 80 yards but the blood trail wasn't that good either. If you are looking at them because you want to do more tissue damage than a conventional fixed blade head, then I would recommend one of the larger cutting mechanicals. Even they would penetrate better than the "cookie cutter".

They are great!!!! the best head design in the world. No other head even comes close to the way the razor ring can core apples.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would follow antler eaters advice. He knows what he is talking about, and by the looks of the head, I suspect the results would not be good in my tests.

I just saw these broadheads today in a magazine for the first time and was wandering about them, but didnt have to wander very long, that broadhead looks like something from starwars.
