Practice Routine...

RE: Practice Routine...
this time of year, i'll shoot a 3 or 4 arrows in a session, concentrating 100% on making each shot count. I'll shoot on the ground, on the roof to simulate a treestand - mix it up. The last week before season, I will run half a mile, then shoot an arrow. I find after running, my heartrate is about the same as when a buck shows up.

RE: Practice Routine...
In June and July I shoot a few times each weekend. Maybe 10 shots per weekend just to get the arms and shoulders loose and confirm that my equipment is alright. Come August 1st, I shoot 1 arrow a day. I shoot from my second floor window to my target below at ranges from 10, 15, 20 yards out. Basically, I come home from work at about 5PM, head upstairs to change, open the window, shoot one arrow. I only shoot once because this MAKES ME FOCUS ON ONLY HAVING 1 SHOT SO YOU NEED TO MAKE IT YOUR BEST! Others might disagree and they have good points, but this works for me and has proven results season in and season out.

hmmm, i loosen my shoulders for a few minutes until they are warmed up, fling a dozen from 20 yards, and then back up to 60 yds and practice form. i'm more concerned with proper execution than any thing else. when that happens, the arrow hits where i pointed it asa by-product.
