Default Any good bracket stands out there

Right now, I use a Loggy Bayou climber with tree steps as my main stand. I like the comfort and light weight of the Loggy, and the steps allow me to get in many trees I couldn't climb. I leave sets of steps in many trees, and just put the stand in one each day.

However, it's a headache getting the Loggy locked onto the tree- especially in the dark. Are there any good stands out there that allow you to leave a bracket in the tree that you can quickly hook a stant into in the dark without much noise or fumbling around? I guess many hang-on stands are simple enough to use, but it seems to me a bracket would be much quicker and easier since there would be no chains or straps to fool with.

I thought Loggy made one some time ago, but I have no experience with them. Any suggestions?

I don't know of any commecial stands like that. My cousin built some himself though. Basically the braket is an H made of square tube with a length of chain and a hook attached to it. The stand has a pair of fingers that are made of the next size smaller square tubing that fits into the bracket. If you have some basic welding skills, you could probably adapt this you your existing stand.

Mike,

Good to see you on Hunting Net too.
Screaming Eagle is the finest hang on stand with a bracket you can buy.
They are hell for strong and tested to 4,000 lbs.
Morrison Archery has them for sale or you can get them direct from Screaming Eagle.

Thanks again Sag- I'll check out those stands. If they are light and a decent size platform, I will get one.

Where were you when I posted the AlpahTec question here a month or two ago?? I didn't get a single reply. I assumed I would just need a new bow. I will be following up on perhaps both your suggestions. If it costs about the same as a new bow to get the new limbs and cams, why not? They aren't making better risers than what I have.

Don't know where I was, Mike.
Could have been in limbo, I guess, lol.
Sometimes, I don't check the bowhunting forum as much as I should.

Sag.

BTW.
If the price of the converted Alphatec gets too steep.
Consider Stewart's own Accu-Riser.
That is, unless it doesn't appeal to you.
I have one and love mine but it's expensive.
If you like a beefy riser, it's the strongest ever made.
It automatically comes with Barnsdale limbs and Stewart's great cams and components.

But good luck with the Alphatec if that's the way you go.
It is a well made bow too.
Let me know how you like it if you get the new limbs and cams for it.

I heard about these on this site last winter. Then I saw them at the Minnesota Deer Classic. I was impressed! I bought one and love it! I hunt with 4 other guys and after the first weeks of the season they all own one. Its a Chippewa Wedgeloc, and they take seconds to hang.

Check it out!! You won't be dissapointed!

Good Luck!
