Default Spitfires?

I was thinking of giving these a try this year. I used Grim Reapers Last year with great success, but thought heck I have plenty of K.E (almost 80lbs) I figured the bigger cut may even make bigger holes..

Anyone have any personal Experience with them? My pro-shop says there one of his best selling heads..

Great review on these heads with nothing but positive notes.

I've used them for a few years now and have had good results, with one exception. Last year i shot a doe and hit her square in the shoulder and my arrow went in about3/4 of an inch and just bounced out. At least one of the blades didn't open, I tried to open it afterward and could barely do it. I normally check all my blades to see if they open properly, I'm not sure what happened. I've shot several other deer in the same spot and blown right through without any problem

I used them a couple years ago and had a bad outcome. I shot a doe and the arrow stayed in her. When we recovered her the blades were closed the the rubber ring still around them. I was shooting 65 lbs., I have a friend who shot them the same year and I belive he still shoots them. Me I would stay the the G5's.
Good Hunting.

^^^Spitfires don't have a rubber ring or rubber band to hold them closed

They are good heads if you have the energy to use them. Because they are held closed by friction they seem to require a bit more energy than some of the other heads.

Me and a buddy used them several years ago and didn't have much luck getting pass throughs. However I was shooting 26 inches and 60 lbs. And he was shooting 73 lbs at 27 inches, but it was an older darton bow with round wheels, so he was probably shooting about the same speed and KE I was.

Why change, if you have great success with them?
Stick with the Grimreapers.
