I love to hunt, and bowhunting is by far my favorite way to do it. I personnally enjoy it more, because the deer are in a more natural state then. They are not being pushed around by the many gun hunters in the woods. You need them close to get a shot, so you learn alot about stand placements, and setup. Bowhunters have to pay extra special attention to detail. The dumbest over looked slightest thing can mess up a hunt. I find bowhunters are very ethical, and take archery very serious. If you ever get the chance to arrow a deer at close range theres just nothing like it. And of course its a tougher challenge. Those deer can drive you nuts somedays. I don't have enough fingers, and toes to count the number of times I've had deer in close range, but couldn't get the shot because of a bad angle, or tree or branch in the way of a clear shot. It happens, but it makes it all the more exciting!!

I agree with BuckAlley. Bow hunting is more challanging and also more pieceful. In Michigan there are so many gun hunters it sounds like a war zone in most areas. The majority of the gun hunters only go out in the woods on opening day and blast away. With bow hunting there is a lot more prep time. To me the prep time is just as important, and enjoyable, as the hunting time.

I still gun hunt, but not near as much as bow. Due to circumstances I can only hunt on weekends and I have not missed one since Oct 1. I also hunted the first full week of bow.

Just gotta love it.

I bowhunt because I lose the prevlidge of carring modern firearms. I didn't hunt at all for 15 years until I found out I could legally bowhunt. Now I wish I had gotten started bowhunting instead of gun hunting. They can keep their 'bangsticks'! I love the 1 on 1 experience and solitude. Comuning with nature. Im in my second season as a bowhunter and still haven't taken a deer. But I have enjoyed those 2 seasons more than any gun hunts I went on. I have a very old Bear compound bow I bought used. But because I have fell in love with bowhunting so much, I'm now going to buy a brand new one.
