Drove around on some back roads in Anne Arundel county after work this evening and saw a single doe grazing in a field. I went a mile or so, turned around, drove slowly by the same field and guess who was there with the doe? Mr 8pt buck! I was shocked to see such a buck in MD with a nice wide rack (I move here from TX last Nov). They were feeding at opposite ends but he was SLOWLY making his way over to her. He would graze (or smell the ground) a little then make a few steps towards her. He was a few feet away when she trotted away but he took off after her and chased her into the woods.
It was pretty cool seeing that (felt like I was on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom...who all remembers that show?) in spite of being in an urban setting. Oh I forgot to mention that I was only 100yds away the whole time!
I suddenly feel a cold coming on so I probably won't make it into work tomorrow...or Friday either. Oh my, there's a holiday on Monday too! Waa-hoo!
Hopefully we'll have Sunday hunting here in MD soon too!

First, welcome to Md and second welcome to HNMB. Md has a lot of very big deer. I am from AA Co., the Riva, Annapolis areas, where were you driving? I was hunting all week in Montgomery Co. and the bucks that wern't chashing does already had thiers seperated from the rest.
