Default question about arrows

i am going to make my own arrows i have a few questions about shafts. i have looked at a ton of web sites and for the most part they did not help.how do i decide what size shafts will work for me. i know i need a length of 27 inches i messured from the inside of the nock grove to the end of the shafts. does the thickness of the shaft really matter and if so how do i come up with what size i need, hope i don's sound to stupid but i have always just went into the bow shop and said give me the best arrows arrows that will work with me bow, now i have to drive over an hour to do that so i am going to make my own any help would be great. if you need more info to help me just let me know and i will tell you what i can thanks Jim

Default RE: question about arrows

I think your saying your going to by some shafts, inserts, nocks and vanes and put them together. No big deal you just need a tool to put the vanes on and some glue. Most arrow manufactures have a chart that will tell what size you need, but even then you may find you need the next one either way on the chart. Just happens. They will also cut them to length if you don't want to get a saw. If your talking about making your own shafts, can't help you there.
