I don't think it matters i have always let fly out of the tree. being quiet and not hopping around on one foot needing to pee is a lot wprse. Had a doe walk up and lick the wet leaves below my stand. I also on the way out will make a mock scrape and pee on it. did this aa few days ago because I read about it and a buck kicked up a scrape abour six feet away the next day !!! Its only a theory. I guess Iam just a scent free nut and refuse to pee near my hunting spots and if I do pee my hunt is over in that area. When bowhunting I take a gatoraid bottle a 64oz bottle with cap just incase I am in stand and have to go. I just dont like the fact of scenting my area up with human pee. Just my thoughts

I saw an article recently that showed, experimentally, that in a scrape, ones that had human pee were visited as often as one with either buck or doe pee.

Right from the stand! actually did it this year and had 6 does come in and hang out under my stand with no ill effects, except for my arrow double lunging one at 10 yards!

I bring in a large Snapple Ice Tea bottle. They work good!!

I have one spot next to a creek, so sometimes I just turn around and whiz in the creek...

I try not to pee near my blind. But if nature calls you gotta go. I personally have never seen any negative effects from it.

Hunt hard!!!!

The first time I urinated out of my treestand was last year. I had only been up there an hour or so, and had to go REALLY bad.

A short while later a doe came by, stopped, stuck her nose down to take a sniff, and caught an arrow through the lungs.

I don't much worry about it any more.

One afternoon I was in my stand and had a stomach virus. About 15 minutes in my stand my stomach started churning and hurting and I knew I couldn't hold it for 4 hours. I had to climb down and relieve myself, I quickly dug a little depression in the soil and squatted down. After I was done I covered it up with dirt and went back up. I figured I wouldn't see any deer, but about 15 minutes before dark I had three does come in about 20 yards but they caught my movement when I was positioning for a shot. I was very suprised that they didn't smell my waste below me.

Even though I usually urinate in a nearby creek enroute to my stand, I will "go" right out of my stand when I can't stand it anymore. Over the years, I have seen does in particular drawn to the scent and I have watched them lick at it. I've also seen large bucks standing over scrapes that I recently "freshened." The only ones that seem to be scared off by it are the little bucks---and they're the ones I won't shoot anyway.

Today's small bucks are tomorrow's trophies.

I go where ever I get the urge, does not spook the deer. It will however tend to P off a buck if you go on an active scrape in the early part of the rut!! I say this for the following reason: 1996 - Bowhunt my stand the Friday before gun season starts, the ground along this scrape line is tore-up everywhere. As I leave, I urinate on the largest scrape. The next morning me and my hunting partner go in before light and as I check that scrape, it was tended hard. Much larger and also deeper.

The buck running that line hung around tight. Seen him walking the tree lines around the area and then came in. Walked right in to the scrapes and to his demise, 10 yards in front of my buddy.

Take dumps around my stands in shallow holes dugout with the heel of my boot and then cover the hole. Have yet to see a deer respond to the smell.
