Ok here it is. I am shooting a fred bear epic extreme. I am guessing I have had it for 5 or 6 yrs. I have a sudden slight interest in replacing it after this hunting season. What is all the bad with this bow and what is so much better about the new bows. If I did replace it, it would be a Ross, Bowtech or the like kind of bow. I have not yet shot the new bows so I don't have a comparison. I am pretty happy with my bow but is seems kinda loud and have had some string clearance issues with my vanes. I am not sure what mine is shooting for speed either.

Your money so hey I'll help you spend it.
Hands down bowtech has the best advertising and that says a lot for me. Hoyt makes one more to my liking though. Ross bows are a fine bow but I think I'd take a darton first. Giblet just bought a Mathews and that says something. Would like to try an Onedia and a Merlin. Then again I've been tempted to use a spear just to be a real prick about the whole my ways better thing, but I digress.

Some of the new Fred Bears (Code, Instinct) really look good at a much more affordable price than the ones you mentioned, I'd take a look at them if your current bow has served you well.

IMO, the BowTechs are second to none, so I'd say you can't go wrong if you buy one of them.
That said, I'll second the suggestion to try out the new Fred Bears. Buddy of mine just bought a new Instinct and that thing is impressive. I don't think it's as smooth as the BowTechs I've shot, but it's a heckuva bow. Nothing comes close to it in its price range (Sub-$400) Quality-wise, I think it's right up there close to the big ($) boys. And you can buy a lot of accessories for the $300-$400 you'd save.
