Springgobbler- I am with Bowtech-Shooter on this one. I too have had standsstolen but once I started using 5/8 inch plastic coated steel cables from Wal-Mart or Lowe's I have yet to loose a stand. These are almost 100% cut proof unless you have a torch. You can get them now with the lock buit into the cable for $20.00. This will end the stolen stands.

If they want it bad enough theyll get no matter how big a cable and lock your using. If they can't cut the cable they'll cut the stand! I only leave stands up over night that I make for around 5-7 dollars. This way I'm not out alot of money. Also if they steal my stand, thy'll earn it for its not very light. Steel and 3/4 plywood make these sturdy and heavy.

I agree. If they want it they'll take it. I'll tell you what though, they're gonna have to work at getting mine and if they cut the stand it won't be any good to them anyway...

Another problem we have around here (which is supposed to be very private property... LOL...) is during our shotgun season some of the "idiot" gun hunters like to shoot peoples stands with slugs...My stands are down during gun season...

*Note the word idiot doesn't pertain to all gun hunters only the ones that are idiots...

I built a (luxury suite) a few years back on some private property of my buddies. Every year I would have to make a couple trips to tip it back over and these jerks even tipped it over the night before opening day one year. The funny thing is I never could find boot marks so my dad and I always like to use the theory that there is a major buck running around knocking it over while makin some rubs LOL!! Any way a couple holes in the ground with cement stopped that! I feel for ya though why do some people have to be jerks. now I can understand why people post their property.

I padlock all of my stands and remove the steps....but I realize this will just stop some from stealing them.
