Whisker Biscuit making noise???

Don't forget you can clear brush out of the way with your bow and by golly that WB is still right where it needs to be. Roaches and WB's are the only survivors in a nuclear explosion. Last but not least, when that big spike comes into your setup and your shaking like a convict in an electric chair, that WB will hold that arrow steady while you shoot over his back.

I always get a kick out of these guys that say "For shooting 3D or target practice I shoot a dropaway as I like to be accurate but when I hunt I use the WB". What is up with that kind of thinking??? It's like saying"When I hunt I don't care if I am accurate asI can be, at least I can turn my bow upside down." Like I stated earlier if my little 11 year old can shoot a deer with a Trophy Taker drop away than any grown man should be able to do the same. My kid doesn't even have the shakey hunter, he has the original. If you can't draw a bow smoothly and fear having an arrow fall off of your rest than you need practice more and quit making excuses why a drop away isn't any good for hunting. Plain and simple; if you want a rest that provides extreme accuracy, allows any type of fletching to be used on an arrow due to the fact that there is no fletching contact, is extremely quiet, durable, and foolproof; get a trophy Taker or any of the other great drop aways on the market.

Some observations from seeing literally 100's at my local shop in the past 5 years:
-Just about all the WB users I knowwho use the same bow for huntingand 3D, leave the WB on year round.
-The only noise I ever hear from one is when using a camo or similarly coated arrow. My ACC's are quiet.
-Straight or offset fletching typically shows little or no wear.
-Seen dozens of bows shot thru the crono before and after WB install - never more than a 3fps difference.
-Extremely rare to see someone go back or to a different hunting rest

AND!
Accurate? Jim Despart shot a 300 60X Nfaa rd - didn't hurt him!
WB for everybody? Certainley not - BUT a darn fine rest for those who wish to use it and holds it own with any other.

...AND... the original question was....
..and all we've gotte for answers are, "It's the greatest"... "It doesn't make noise"... "All my friends and all the people in the universe shoot it without noise". As the man stated in his last sentence... "Thanks alot guys".[8D][8D][8D][8D]

GOd loves a smart azzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I'm sure this has been touched upon before so i appologize for the repetiveness. My buddy uses a WB and loves it but it makes a screaching noise when he draws back. How can this be cured? He heard about spraying teflon on his arrows but i wanted to check on here for ideas. Thanks alot guys.

Gotta love these WB threads.
The WB is not for everybody just like one brand of bow or sight or whatever other piece of equipment and thank goodness for that. I think if everyone shot one I'd have to shoot something else just to break things up. For myself, its proved to be a very good rest. Yes, I was getting noise with aluminum arrows (which I prefer) but switched to carbons and have gotten no noise with the brand I'm shooting. And while I prefer aluminum arrows, I have been pleased with the carbons. I imagine there are some carbons that would make noise, I just haven't had any that do. Well, I have had some noise with the WB.... arrows shooting into the end of other arrows. Kind of an odd noise but not one I expect a deer to hear.

Atlasman,
I apologize, but I was just trying to have a little fun with ya. These threads just get rediculous sometimes, so did I. Sorry
I have a drop away and love it, and never have had a problem with it. You have a WB and abviously loveit and never have problems either.Thats a good thing.

What drop away do you shoot again?
If I had a drop away that had performed flawlessly for me I would be talking about how nice that rest is too.............as it turns out in my case the drop away I used was garbage and had many issues with it.........so I went to a WB and now I couldn't be happier with it's performance. I see no reason to hunt without one now. Live and learn I guess

And before you ask......That's the FIRST thing I do when I knock an arrow when I'm on stand. I draw back and let off. My prong stays up.
And before you ask......That's the FIRST thing I do when I knock an arrow when I'm on stand. I draw back and let off. My prong stays up.
And?
And...just to be fair....I AM one who has owned both of these type rests, too (WB and drop away....not just you). I have as much a right to post to those wanting to know as anyone. If you didn't know my arrow stayed contained when I let down....then I'm betting I know as much (consumers utilize your own judgement) or more about YOUR rest than you obvisouly knew about mine.
I think you may have me mistaken with someone else..........not only do I not even know what kind of rest you shoot.........but I really don't care either. I don't mean that in a harsh way.........but really, why would I care what rest you shoot?
I won't be so pompous as to tell them that I and four of my friends are the only ones in the world that are qualified to set them up and comment on them, though.....which (whether you fully comprehend it, or
not) IS what you're saying to all others.
not) IS what you're saying to all others.
I don't know where you pulled that from...........I've never said anything even remotely close to that. You are REALLY grasping at straws now. Geeesh.......the more I see you try to defend your getting busted as not your fault the more sure I become that it had nothing to do with sound at all.
I've had enough of this thread.

Atlasman,
When I nock an arrow I can manually lift the prong into position and it locks in the upward position. If I were to draw and let if down the rest would drop back into its position.
Hardcorehunter,
I'm not saying that no one shouldown a WB because the come stock on a lot of pre-built bows, I just wonder why anyone would choose one over drop away while upgrading since there are so many advantages to a drop away. Other than price that is.

Thankfully you don't need to resort to hyperbole

Joke all you want.........picking between the two I would rather take my chances going through thick brush with a WB then a plastic fork bolted to my riser
