Lazy:

Your friend is no hunter....he's a liability

You did/said the right thing to him.

you were totally in the right by telling him how things are ...especially on your place. i use to hunt with a guy who was a terrible hunter, wounding deer, taking shots and not looking for blood after the deer ran away just fine without a limping, or whatever else. forget that, i don't hunt with him anymore.

lazyarcher i would tell the all mighty Lord the same if his shooting ethic's were questioable but then i would beg for forgivness,No your not wrong if the guy cant respect what's said and get's mad then he was never truly a good hunting friend.but i would try to talk to him at least on your view's and listen to his one more time maybe all can be salvaged if not then you haven't lost anything

Good for you. We don't need people like that giving us a bad name. Also if he can't respect YOUR rules on YOUR land tthan I would say he has no respect for you, the deer, your land, or your friendship.

Adda boy way to stick to your ethics and morals. I would offer to teach him and show what is right and why and if he is reciptive then great but just make sure you explain why you are saying this. Maybe there are some pictures of deer that were only wounded and lived for a couple days dying slowly or died of infection. Maybe this would change his mind. But you did good. proud of you.

Way to go!!

It sucks having to lay down the law, but it has to be done sometimes! If this person doesnt want to agree with it, too bad let them go find theyre own ground to hunt. I know as well as you how tough it can be obtaining permission in this area!

Good luck on your hunt next week!

He must be a true friend after reading the comments. I agree with you 100 percent but what about the other readers that take **** shots. Nobody wants to be the bad guy. I'm wondering why do people do the things they do. (Maybe I'm just thinking to hard.)
