question on antler growth

Default question on antler growth

i have some pictures of bucks with 6 inches of growth but the antlers are skinny will they grow in mass as they grow in length or will they have total mass once the that part of the antlerare developed

In my expereince, the big onesstart out as short, fat growths and maintain a fairly constant width throughout growth.

I believe that there is a small gain in mass as the antler develops, mostly what you see is what you get.

If the antlers are grown to 6" long and the bases are skinny, they're going to be skinny racks.

Awesome pics of a buck during growth.
I think the buck you have pics of with the 6 inches of growth with skinny rack is probably a good healthy 1.5-2.5 year old.Give him a few more years and the mass will follow.
