Some champions may want thier time to the next title defense to go slow so they can relish the feeling. We welcome the opportunity to defend our title. Everyone wants a crack at the XX. Bring it on baby!

You guys can just go ahead and pencil us in for about 1000" of antler.

RE: Bowhunting Contest 2006?

Only 60 days until deer opens, caribou's open all the time with no limit though... do caribou antlers count? If so it wouldn't be unreasonable to do 1000" of antler in a week.

RDHunter, this will be season number 3 that we held the contest and there is it's own forum, sub forum of bowhunting where we hold it. I will start a sign up post in the forum in mid July. Once you sign up and the deadline comes I'll randomly place everyone on a team. That will be your team for the season, total number of inches from said team wins as Team XX won last year and Team 8 won the previous year. Winners had received gifts from HNI....watch for the signup, rules etc.....

TEAM XX....don't forget the stigma/curse of the winning team, seems Team 8 from the year before crashed and burned, could be your destiny as well....muuuhhh hahhah hahah ;) [&:]

Everyone, RULES WILL STICK THIS YEAR regarding Bow/buck/you in the picture.....PERIOD....sorry, gonna be a meany this year.

Can't wait to see the signups, what last year we had 300 in it and some missed out. Any predictions on the number this year?????

Coming to HNI near you.!

Just send me $20 and I will make sure you get on a team.

My team didn't do all that great last year, but if I can repeat my success I will be happy. That was the first year I ever scored on the archery opener and a buck at that. After that it was doe heaven but I'm still eating them and can't taist the horns any way. Lets get it on. The only thing about this contest is that our season opens the third Monday in Oct. and I have to listen to all the excitement of everyone else for a month and a half before I can get out there. Sign-ups will be ona thread starting mid-July. Here's the rules from last year http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=734668 I assume this years rules will be similar. Teams are randomly selected from the list of people who sign up, except the defending team can maintain there lineup from last year.

Thanks Rob
So its kinda like the turkey contest I was in huh.
When I sign up & put on a team, what ever team has the highest score wins.
The picture of the buck that gets posted has to have the hunter/team member in it right.

Heresthe mount ofmy buck that took top honors in the individual deer contest for 2005. Prizes were promised for at least the top three scores, but I have not gotten anything yet.

shed33 06-02-2006 11:24 PM

RE: Bowhunting Contest 2006?

Dada,

Nice looking mount! On the prizes, the top three hunters were to submit thier officialscore sheets to Buckeye since they were so close. I have yet to hear if that ever materialized.

Who picks the names of the teams?
The members of that team submit ideas and generally vote on which one they like.

See Shed33's reply, Each top 3 had to submit an official score sheet to Buckeye...not sure if any of the top 3 sent their sheet to him. Perhaps it's the top 3 bucks that dropped the ball...I've been waiting to hear. It's up to the individual...Buckeye was grateous to do this but he shouldn't have to beg for participants.
