RE: Bowhunting Contest 2006?

Dada,

Nice looking mount! On the prizes, the top three hunters were to submit thier officialscore sheets to Buckeye since they were so close. I have yet to hear if that ever materialized.

See Shed33's reply, Each top 3 had to submit an official score sheet to Buckeye...not sure if any of the top 3 sent their sheet to him. Perhaps it's the top 3 bucks that dropped the ball...I've been waiting to hear. It's up to the individual...Buckeye was grateous to do this but he shouldn't have to beg for participants.

Right on guys. Rules are rules and with out the offical score sheets no prizes will be awarded. Especiallywith how close the unofficial scores were. If you guys don't want to do what you are supposted to do to recieve your prize then don't complain that you haven't recieved them.

Scott

Well ok guys. I already once forwarded a copy of my score sheet to Rob months ago. That is why my score was adjusted. I also coresponded with shed last month seeing how nobody had been in contact with me with requests of any kind. Now to say it is my fault is funny, but I will play along and send a copy to you buckeye.Buckeye, surely you must have known my score was turned in long ago, after all my official score was higher than I had scored it and that is what put me back in first. Than for you to accuse me of not playingby the rules and being a complainer is insulting to me and the members of this forum..........Dabow

You just ratted yourself out.

You may have sent a copy of the sheet to Rob, but you were supposed to send one to Buckeye.

Buckeye is correct in saying that you didn't play by the rules. You sent your sheet to the wrong person. That is no one's fault but your own.

I would rather these issues were handled via PM's. Buckeye and everyone else involved were very gratious in this, and to complain is .......well......detrimental to future contests. Please guys, let's get it right, but let's do it privately, please.

Like I said, I'd be wanting to know why. Could have been taken care of long ago it seems. No matter now as long as it gets done. No reason why it wasn't done if some guys knew about it. Stuff happens.

Congrats Dabowhunter on a nice buck!

Actually I did PM shed over a month ago. Said he'd talk to Buckeye. I would say waiting quietly for almost half a year is long enough.

Okay, okay, this contest was a blast last year and still is. Dabow, you shot a dandy buck, and a big congrats goes out to you again. It's magnificant and the mount is as well.

No one should be insulted, no one is pointing fingers and you should get what you earned with that dandy buck. Please forward a set of your papers to Buckeye, sending them to me was just for me to clearify that your buck was indeed larger than you previously had down and that was a good thing. Corresponding with shed was probably a good idea as well however, please go ahead and forward it to Buckeye. Perhaps tho the other two bucks simply didn't get scored and rightly you have first regardless. Whose to say tho that if officially scored the second place buck was misscored for the contest.

Anyway, congratulations on a tremendous trophy by any means. Please don't take anything to heart from the forum. You deserve you reward and thanks again for participating and for your patience.

Ratted my self out? Get real. Let me tell you something. Rob got a copy of my score sheet and adjusted my score accordingly.Rob or know oneelse said hey you bettersend a copy to Buckeye too. For crying out loud if therewas a rule somewhere that specificaly said Buckeye do you think someone may havereminded me so they could send the prize? I emailed Shed on may 1st regarding contest and told him of me sending score to Rob. He said he would talk Buckeye and let him know. Why sit on prizes for half a year with out contacting the winners? If there are indeed other winners who have been contacted and not responded than scratch that person off the list and move down the list to the next highest score.

Dabow

Actually, I had no idea that you had your deer officially scored. Why?...... You never sent me a copy! I did send you anemail through HNI on 2 occasions. You, deerslayer and motown were the top 3 and I never have received anything from any of you. It was up to those who entered their deer into the contest to send me the official scores. If you were unclear of the rules it is up to you to contact me and get it straightened out.

Rob ran the main contest, I ran the individual contest with much help from Shed. The contestswere not one in the same, so it was not up to Rob or anyone else to tell you to send a copy of your score sheet to me.

For crying out loud if therewas a rule somewhere that specifically said Buckeye do you think someone may havereminded me so they could send the prize?
If you are going to enter a contest on your own free will it is your responsibility to follow the rules. It isn't up to Rob or anyone else to coach you through step by step.

If there are indeed other winners who have been contacted and not responded than scratch that person off the list and move down the list to the next highest score.
Since you seem to have all the answers maybe you should run it this year and put up your time and money to sponsor a prize.

Thanks Rob, your a class act. Buckeye, I never got any kind of correspondence from you ever. Perhaps Deerslayer and Motown did not get your letters either. At any rate Shed did tell me via email that he would contact you regarding my score sheet.

I sent each of you emails through HNI 2 separate times. Even if I had not it was your responsibility to send me the score sheet. Don't be bitter towards me because you didn't follow the rules untill today.

I just received it today from you and I will give deer slayer and motown another chance to get me their official scores.

Bitter? No I am not bitter. You may have sent the emails twice but I am telling you I never received them. I would have no reason not to respond. Maybe I should have read the rules closer but didnt shed contact you last month?

Even though this contest is a friendly contest... I see a bigproblem this year. How the heck do you trash talk Troy (shed33) since trash talking generally startsthe contest off and is a must??

It is impossible to trash talk himwhen everyone is ... myself included. [:@] Someone has to have some dirt on him so we can just like we did the other champs ( by the way does anyone remember which team was that ?? [:'(]:D) last year.

Troy if you read this... Tyler made me write it... buddy!! The kid is getting big, mean and he scares me!! :D

I usually reach down and break those little spikers off for tooth picks as they walk by TJF.:D On another note Buckeye i never got an email from you either. You sent one I am sure but i never got it. I hardly ever even read e mail for all the junk I get. I say make Deer slayer 2nd in the contest and I will gladly hold up the third spot with pride. This should solve any problems so you can get the winners their prizes. I thought it was the honor system for scoring our bucks. I did get mine officially scored though at 170 and 3/8 which is 2 inches smaller than I measured myself. We are in the process of moving and the papers are packed away somewhere. So Dabo, is the man with a great buck, followed by Deer slayer for the finest 8 pointer I have ever seen. ( which I thought was under scored) I hope this settles the matter. Peace

Motown deerslayers fantastic buck is a 10 pointer though [8D]

I will wait to hear back from him and see if he indeed had his buck scored or not before we go any further.

I am curious if HNI email go into spam folders? Perhaps this is why you two may not have recieved the emails?

It was a 10 point and I agree it was one fantastic looking deer. Not taking anything away from yours or Dabo's bucks (both great) but Deer Slayer nailed a slammer no doubt. I posted some time ago I thought it was underscored as well.

I think sending the scores to Buckeye is a smart call, he is someone you can definitely call fair and trustworthy.

Motown...I laughed out loud when I read your "sissy" post..that was good!

Dada, I did talk to Buckeye about your concerns if it makes you feel any better, sorry your so bent out of shape.Buckeye told me no one had answered his pm's about official scores and prizes ...That was all I needed to hear from Buck.
