Cheap Target Question

Your arrows will bury all the way to the fletching and removal is a task because the material of the Jacket grips onto your arrows something fierce
If they come straight out and tell you that it is for FP's or BH's only there is usually good reason [8D]

Another note: If you are shooting your FP's into a target designed for BH's and it is harder to pull them out, and you happen to be shooting Aluminum arrows, There is a very good chance you will bend your shafts straining to pull them out!!!

Well, I shoot carbon, but I understand what you guys mean now. I think we unknowingly did this with a 3D target once with field points and I was tempted to hook the arrow up to my truck and let her rip[:@]Guess I'll be on the lookout for a bag. Anybody know of a good field tip bag under $30?

Why is it easier to pull out w/ a BH? Does it "cut" it's way back out?
Not arguing, just don't understand. I've looked at that Yellow Jacket and thought about getting one. How well does it hold up??

The targets material does not have a 360 degree grip on the shaft when shooting broadheads like it does with field tips.
Theslits cut from the bladesof thebroadhead act in sorts as relief cuts for easy arrow removal as the target cannot squeeze the shaft continuously 360 degrees like with the field tips. [/align]

Mine is a year old now and it is pretty wore out in the spots I've been shooting. I'm going to paint more spots on it in between the old ones and wear it out for another year. I've puts an awful lot or arrows into that thing and when it can't take any more I will definitly buy another.

The outer material is that self healing foam. I think the friction of the field point produces enough heat to melt the foam slightly. The BH supply the relief cut that make it easier to remove.
As far as a cheap bag target for FP I had a eureka moment and an idea. My wife just bought some new seat cushins for the outdoor furniture and wants me to throw the old ones out. If I stuff them into a burlap bag, or a feed bag, this might make a decent FP target. I'll let you know tommorow!

Like Buckeyhunter said I would not shoot a field tip into it.I did when I first got my morell target and really had a hard time getting the fieldd tip out.I would buy a bag target if you want to shoot field tips They are well worth the money and you can re-surface/cover them too.
