2 Bucks in 1 week
#51
Ok folks here ya go.
ALL NJ EARN A BUCK PROGRAMS END ON DEC.14TH THAT IS THE END OF IT THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE STATE.
EACH ZONE HOWEVER THAT IS UNDER EARN A BUCK HAS DIFFERENT TIMES AND SEASONS THAT IT IS UNDER EARN A BUCK
FOR EXAMPLE:
Regulation set #7 states that Earn-A-Buck is during Sept. 7–27, 2002 only and at no other time throughout the rest of the hunting season.
However, Regulation set #8 states
Earn-A-Buck during entire Fall Bow Season—September 7 – October 25, 2002:
And also
Permit Bow Season in the same Set Oct. 26–Nov. 23 and Nov. 28–30 and Dec. 2–,14, 2002—Earn-A-Buck:
And also
Permit Muzzleloader— in the same Regulation set Nov. 25, 26, 27, 29, 2002—ANTLERLESS DEER ONLY Dec. 2 and 3, 2002—Earn-A-Buck:
And as you can see regulation set # 8 covers quite a few zones in itself. ZONES: 5, 7, 8, 9*, 10, 11, 12, 13*, 14, 36, 41, 50 & 51
The reminder for Buck stubs and earn a buck is placed after every regulation set but does not apply to all zones. If a zone is under earn a buck the dates that it is under the earn a buck program will be listed within the guidlines for that regulation set.
Im sure my butcher would have had a problem taking in an illegal deer into his cooler knowing that they check him every other day and he also checks the deer there too and im sure he would have had something to say before he put the band on it and issued me another tag. HeHe
Also, I said it was low light I didnt say it was dark if you look at the horns on this deer and how dark they are and take into consideration that the dark woodline was the backdrop I could not see any horns on his head becuase they were so dark. Obviously if it was that dark I couldnt have seen the deer at all to shoot it.
6ptsika thanks for wathching my back, normally I check the boards every night but i came down with the flu wed. and have not been on my feet till today.
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO 2BUCKS IN 1 WEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Thats all great Trock but at the bottom of regulation#6 it say's "Reminder: Hunters must have a valid BUCK STUB whenever
taking an antlered deer. Earn-A-Buck requirement ends after
Dec. 14, 2002. Use the 2002 buck stub for permit shotgun and
permit muzzleloader seasons which continue into January and
February 2003. For the 2003 winter bow season, use the 2003
winter bow buck stub. " I recieved an e-mail back from fgw and accrording to them area's falling under regulation #6 are eab and that unless other wise stated the season weather it is permit bow or bow season falls under this regulation. So that means in your area eab is over Dec. 14 I never seen any thing in regulation 6 about permit bow season not being eab. Then again maybe the state of NJ. is interpreting their law wrong?

Reaper please do me a favor and forward me the message that you recieved and tell me the persons name that you spoke to: [email protected]
I will then ask my buddy who is a game warden if he knows who this person is and why I wasnt fined and all my gear confiscated on the spot when I checked the deer in at the check station.

Hey Reaper,
Just because you haven't heard from me in a while doesn't mean I'm hiding!
I have a life outside of this post and believe me my top priority in that life is not worrying about misguided people such as yourself.
You can quote the generalities of NJ gaming laws all you want but the fact of the matter is TROCK is 100% LEGAL!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
And for those of you ripping him and calling his shot unethical, why don't you be a MAN and not then congratulate him.
If you disagree with the shot why would you ever say congrats on the kill.
You should do some whining about that to.
Everything about this kill was legal and ethical, WHY it is so important for some of you guys to make it neither is beyond me!
And don't bother coming back saying whats wrong with asking questions or not agreeing with the shot!
You guys have gone way beyond that!!!
You've asked the questions and they have been answered and whether your willing to admit it or not you have called him a liar and a poacher.
And just because you haven't come out and said "Liar", by continuing to accuse him of needing to shoot a doe first, or being in the "Earn a buck" program, which we are not! Is nothing short of calling us LIARS!!!
I know your new to the post but I think you ought to take a step back and relax.

I don't know anything about NJ game laws and I don't care. Congrats on the great bucks!
I will however, add my 2 cents on one portion of this thread.
Unless you were there, you cannot possibly judge the shot as ethical or unethical. It is impossible to accuarately determine a good shot by a few spoken words on a forum post. Absolutely impossible! You don't know how dark it was. You don't know exactly what was seen. Basically, you don't know anything. To judge this shot is very presumptuous and uncalled for.

Trock I have deleted the e-mail but however you your self may e-mail them also by getting on thier site. I e-mailed them and asked if regulation zone#6 was in the earn a buck program and they e-mailed me back and said that unless other wise stated the particular season is in in earn a buck. I then looked at regulation #6 and it say's reminder earn a buck regulation ends Dec. 14 2002 so I it sure seems that yes earn a buck is effect. If I am wrong I am sorry but I honestly feel that you needed to shoot a doe. If you were checked by a warden I quess you are legal but then again who knows? Either way I stated my peice if you don't like it sorry this is public opions board. Trock I realy hope I am wrong but for some reason I just don't think thats the case here. As far as the issue on the shot well it was your decision but in my opion was a poor decision and I would have waited for a better shot. Intentional aiming away from your normal shot zone and hopeing for a good hit is just that " shooting and hopeing" which is very irresponsible and very unethical come on you can argue with me all you want but you owe to that animal not me not even yourself. Just look at hom many times this year people have posted "help me find my deer" or " is he dead yet?" I know that every one will loose a deer at some point but to porposly do some thing marginal uuughhh. Good luck with your hunting.

Ok im very tired of this post. Im sorry I ever wrote it. But none the less I know that my deer is legal, the shot was ok and im comfortable with that.
This issue is now dead and will see no more of my time.

Trock, thanks for stepping up and answering the question. You shot the buck with the thought that you were acting within the guidelines of the law. I can tell by your candid expanation that you had no intention of any wrong doing. I said it before, but congrats. That's a lot of points in one week. I hope that you don't think that I was in any way trying to take away from your accomplishments with my question. That was not my intent. With so many people out there that act without regard for the laws we have to police our own ranks. I'm glad to see that you are on the right side. Congrats again.
Bowdaddy, relax buddy. I was not trying to call anyone a lyar or make accusations. I was asking a question to make sure everything was legit. If nothing wrong was done (which is the case IMO) there is nothing to get upset about. Good luck to the both of you the rest of the season.
