I was driving to the bus station in Tenafly, NJ the other day and was cutting through the town of Demarest. Since these are towns in the eastern part of Bergen County, hunting is not allowed and the deer have proliferated to the point that people are now complaining--what' s next--sharpshooters?
Anyway, at about 6.15am I looked over on someone' s lawn and saw 2 nice rack bucks calmly eating this guys flowers. The nearest woods were about 1 mile away and this town lies about 15 miles from midtown manhattan. ANy way, each buck has countable tines and looked to be each either 6' s or 8' s.
Anyone else seeing bucks?

Ive seen some starting to grow in Jackson NJ. Im gonna try and get my trailCam out once the rain stops. In Princeton they also have an overpopulation of deer due to no hunting and they did hire a sharpeshooter (White Buffalo). I guess these towns would rather spend the money on one than open up a season and make money on special permits. I dont know.....sounds kinda crazy to me.

I drove out to the Poconos this weekend, and I saw plenty of road kill, as well as living deer.
Its a shame to, because some of the road kill where nice bucks, just starting to sprout antlers.
I was amazed though, at how many deer I saw in the Poconos....just everywhere...like cockaroaches
