Default disassembling a bow?

This isnt really hunting related, but I thought someone might know abot it here.
I have an old alpine archery bow that I want to take apart but dont have a real bow press. I do have an old portable press. the ones with the rope and 2 steel rods. I havent used it before. Would I be able to use it to take the limbs and the riser apart? are there any other ways to do it? any help is appreciated. Thank you

Hey 24/7

I'm sure you should be able to use your old press just be carful & don't get hurt.
Make sure you are wearing saftyglasses, when you get your string off the axle's the rest should come easy.
good luck.

Can you take the press off the bow once you have pressed it and have taken string and cable off. On my portable press you can't take it off because its holding/pressing the limbs. Other typesyou can take all the tension off, and then you can unbolt the limbs.
