I don't understand how you can say they haven't improved...that makes no sense to me. The switchback is awesome, the bowtech's binary cam system is going to revolutionize the industry IMO. Both bowtech and mathews are innovating and the archery industry is booming.

Comparisons aside, I think some guys justlike messing with bows. They like the thrill of a new purchase and the chance to tweak it for as much speed/performance they can get. Think of it as a hand-held hotrod. Some people spend tons of money tricking out a Honda Civic, it's a hobby like any other I guess. Me, I still shoot the first bow I bought back in '94. I'm considering replacing that sinceit's getting a little bit of delamination on the edges of the limbs from wear. But since I'm a finger instinctive shooter I'm not sure what's out there for my style of shooting andnot sure I want to spend the time learning the new feel of a different bow. Instinctive shooting is more sensitive to change than sight pin shooters. (Although I've been able to get moderately decent shots with my Dad's two bowsjust picking them up and shooting)I'd love to get a recurve as a second bow but don't want to spend the big bucks on one (and have a second set of arrows) and don't know enough about them to buy a used one. But I haven't missed a deer yet because my bow was too old. (skill level is another thing altogether )

I started bowhunting about 5 years ago. Used to borrow one of my brother-in-law's old Matthews bows. The first bow I bought myself in '03 was aused Magnatec (by then already a couple of year old design). I shot it pretty well and still have it as my backup bow. Then I tried the Xtec in '05. What a difference. First of all, it is about 2 pounds lighter. IMO it is also quieter, fasterand more accurate. I am not a bow expert by any means, but to me there is a noticeable difference between the two bows I own. I have not felt the need to buy another bow, but I will keep an eye out. Of one thing I am sure, they will improve in design and function. Maybe not this year or next, but they will improve. The only question for me is when (not if) the improvements become worth the cost to make it worth buying a new bow.

you make a good point. The thing is though, I've seen improvements from year to year. It's like the binary cam system etc. I didn't think I'd see a better bow than the allegiance, and then they come out with the tribute, and IMO it's a better bow than the allegiance. I don't know I think things are getting better year after year, and I think it's awesome!

I'm a staff shooter for a local shop, which alows me the choice of a new model each season or not. With the technological advancements each year and by each company, it's hard "NOT" to get a new bow every year!!

99%of us just don't get the choice navajo. I still shoot an 80's DARTON and it is time to upgrade, however to upgrade every year, unless you do have the option, I don't understand it either, but I think it would be fantastic to be able to affrd it. Not nocking you guys that do understand some of us just don't I guess..
