I've never shot while sitting.....I always stand when a deer approaches.

I prefer to shoot standing and 95% of my shots are from the standing position. Every once in a while I am forced to take a shot sitting. These are the cases where I didn't see the deer comming and had no time to get into shooting position. It has happened just not often.I practice both standing and seated shots.....you never know!

Well I'm a little diffrent from most. I do most of my sleeping while seated in my tree standI do all of my peeing out of my tree stand while standing. and when I do take a shot it is usally from standing so I spend most of my time 50% seated and 50% standing

I prefer to shoot sitting. I am a better shot sitting because I have a more solid base. I get a little nervous standing on a small platform 15 feet up in the air.If I'm standing, I need to worry about keeping my balance AND shooting. If I'm sitting, I only need to worry about shooting. That makes me a better shot. I try to set up my stands so that the deer are always to my left. If the deer is on my right I stand slowly and rotate. When I use my tree saddleit isn't an issue for me. I can sit and rotate to shoot in any direction.

I would prefer to stand but practice in both positions because more often than not I am sitting when the animal first presents itself.

I stand up in my stand most of the time. I only sit when my feet get tierd. I do this because I don't like to move when I see a deer. I usually don't get caught on my seat. But it does happen, and in this case I wait until I'm sure its ok and stand. But I practice shooting from a seated position just in case. And if you plan to shoot from a sitting position you had better practice or you will be suprised how far off your shot will be. Mike
