Climbers--To Noisy?

80% of the time i am hunting i use a climber stand. But im not sure if the stand is to loud. When i am setting it up perhaps i am making to much noise and thats why im not seeing deer. But i like my climber because i can never seem to be happy with permanant stand placement so i dont like to sit in them to much. What do you think about climbers?

Given any major brand of climber and someone with a little bit of practice and you should be able to climb a tree and get ready with no more noise than a squirrel makes. Many times I have climbed up or down a tree with deer in close eye sight.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not.

If I ain't huntin',I'm trappin',If I ain't trappin',I'm fishin'
If I ain't fishin',I'm wishin'!

Keep on climbing! When you get to the base of the tree you plan to set up on,The deer arn't going to wait until you start climbing to get spooked....I believe they will have already heard or seen you and have already been spooked. If you make it to the tree without being detected, I bet ( most of the time )you'll have time to set up with out further detection.....

In my opion you can get busted climbing into a portable stand. Sooner do you have a climber? The woods here just doesn't seem thick enough to find trees without a lot of branches. Just wondering.

I use a Summit Cobra XL. It's as quiet as I can be. They're also very quiet once in place, when I move around.

&quot;Could you guys be quiet, my dad's trying to shoot.&quot;<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

Doubt the noise is the reason. 1 trip I was on I made all sorts of noise with my climber. I figgured...&quot;aw crap, I scared every deer in the county away&quot; 20 minutes or so later I had deer all around me. Just stick with it
