Default Buck Rubs?

I was out squirrel hunting a few days ago and climbed up onto a big rock. I was surpprised to see buck rubs on the little saplings growing on the top. Would a buck actually climb rocks to make buck rubs???

I doubt it was a buck rub. Unless he could have reached the sapling from standing on the ground, he wouldn't get onton a rock.

Might have been a rabbit or somthing that eats the bark off of saplings. Could be anything but I am very doubtful that a buck did it.

Bowhunter46, why did you ask if you had your own answer? You asked a question, we gave our answer, then you tell us we are wrong? Am I not getting the picture?

At my old house during the winter, the rabbits would eat the bark off of the shrubs around my house. They'd get up there pretty far too. It looked a bit like rubs at times.

I have also seen rubs in strange places like that too though.
