I shot at a buck on October 5, and shot low. There was a little blood and white hair on the arrow. I looked for two days, and didn't see anything. He had just finished making a scrape when I shot. I went back today, and the scrape is still being used! I also found some more rubs along the trail he walked on. Now I'm sure he's alive. Now if I can just get him to make another mistake....

I wouldn't be so fast to jump to conclusions. There could always be other bucks using that scrape and making rubs. I hope that your buck is still alive....but you've got to see it to believe it.

I just came to that conclusion after seeing NO evidence of a dead deer anywhere. You are right about it could be a different deer, but I don't think it is. Besides, my shot could not of killed him. Never seen a brisket hit be deadly.

Like James said, another buck might have woundered into the area and found that its "unoccupied" and started using it. And he might be usin that scrape so other does know that he is the boss now. But ya never know, he might still be alive. Good Luck
