I put my stands as high as I need to to get the shot and do as little clearing as possible. That could be from 14 to 32 feet in the air. I prefer to be 23 to 25 feet off the ground. This year I shot a buck at 28 feet in the air. I name my stands, this one is called the tall stand!

I have hunted from around 15-30 ft. Started taping alot this year. My buddy and I tried to be up around 25 ft. as there is double the people. With a lock-on I try to stay around 20 ft. Height is good, but you need to watch your shot angle.

I have 15 ladder stands and they are all 12ft. The guys in the club were leary about them at first but were quickly amazed how little they were noticed. In a climber I will go to 20ft. but not much higher. Alot has to do with how trained the deer are. I have been on public land hunting and it seems like they dont watch where theregoing because they are to busy lookin into the trees.

I generally hunt from 15 to 16. This year i had to hunt from 21 because of the way the tree was formed. I don't like hunting to high because it cut's down the shot angle.

I have my lockons set anywhere from 16-18ft.... Works for me. I use 20ft of climbing sticks (five 4ft sections) for each and usuallymount the stand somewhere in the middle of the last 4ft section.

I don't feel "comfortable" unless I am >20 feet per the mark on my pull-up rope - unless I've got great cover from an adjacentholly tree.
