good bye again
#11
gonzo, you know the old saying "No good deed goes unpunished". I shot a buck on Saturday evening and left it hanging overnight (it was cold) because I was so tired I decided to go back home (about 40) and get some sleep rather than stay and hunt Sunday morning. I went back Sunday to get my buck and took it and another guys doe to the processor down the road. One of the other hunters had shot a really nice buck (with a gun) but they lost the blood trail and was going back out to look some more. I volunteered to help them look, so after I got back from the processor I put my bow, in its soft case, and the rest of my gear in the bed of my truck so some guys could ride in the truck. We never found the buck and I left out of there forgetting my stuff was in the bed of the truck. I made no stops on the way back home and my bow was gone from the bed of my truck. The only thing could of happened was it blew out. It was a Pearson Pride only about 2 months old. Of course, all of the accessories (sight, rest, stab., etc.) plus the new soft case, a hip quiver, and about a dozen arrows. I had a plastic box in there but I can't remember what all I had in it. I sure wanted to cry. It still stings just thinking about it. I thought if I had only left and not helped them I'd still have my bow but if someone needed help tomorrow I'd do it again. It was my own fault for not putting the gear back behind the front seats where I always keep them. Oh well, stuff happens. I wandered aimlessly around a few weeks till my wife let me buy another one.
