"Rest of the year blues"???Never heard of that. The end of deer season is the beginning of some of the bestrabbit hunting. It's also the time to start getting ready for spring turkey, 3D, indoor leagues, getting hog hunts lined up, some varmint hunting, bow fishing... Deer hunting is just a small part of what you can do with your bow and, really, not even my favorite part.
It's nevermade any sense to me that peopleget so specialized on deer hunting thatthey ignore all the other hunting and recreationalopportunities that are open to someone with a goodbow.Join an archery club and hang out with a bunch of other guys who share the same passion.Buy a recurve or longbow and just go out and PLAY sometimes.Become a complete, well rounded archer. Expand your horizons.
Nobody should have the time to even think about being bored or depressed just because one season has ended.

Yea our season ended 1-2-06 but I started my scouting 1-1-06. Now it's time for the work. I usually run out of time before season starts again... planting food plots, clearing lanes, scouting, sprucing up tower stands for gun hunts, oh did I say SCOUTING!!! Get out there right now and do TONS of scouting...you will NOT regret your efforts. Now is a GREAT time to be out!

I'm suprised that you guys scout so much this early. WhereI hunt, the deer are NOWHERE NEAR where they will be in the fall this time of year...I WISH I could scout now, but it's more effective if I wait til mid summer or later. I understand that every location is different. There's just no winter food source on the farm I hunt this time of year...it's a bummer.
