Nice pics!!

I have no problems throwing some apples, corn or whatever else the deer need to survive a harsh winter on the ground for them.. The DEC has done absolutely NOTHING to curb the unethical poachers in my area so I say screw them. I will never shoot any animal over a pile of food but if I can help them eat than I will. I really enjoy checking my trail cam to see which foods they enjoy more than others.

However, I never accused you of hunting in your backyard; and never said if i agreed with the law or not because its irrelevant; I simply questioned the fact that if you are willing to break the Environmental Conservations law in your own back yard,

You said I was breaking the law while representing myself as a hunter. That is untrue...........what I do as a hunter has nothing to do with what I do in my yard.
So if we use the above logic we can assume people have Hunting ethics and back yard ethics. Back yard ethics has nothing to do with the way we hunt, because people have a different set of erhics for when they hunt.
So , we would have work ethics, family ethics, ETC... and we would changed our ethics all the time, depending on the situation we were in.
If you think about he's right, how many times have we seen a guy convicted of a serious crime be the great neighbor. The guy was a great guy in his community, people loved him. He had two sets ethics also, one he wanted people to believe he, and his true ethics.

Did I get this right?

You are trying to apply two different standards to someone's ethics. Ethics are "doing the right thing". If you are somehow trying to imply that anyone who has ever broken a law would do the same in the woods that is just plain stupid. That would include everyone. I am sure that we have all been over the speed limit and jay walked at one point in time.........so I guess by your logic then everyone has no ethics in the woods because they speed and cross the street not at an intersection.

No, what I ask and I over did just to be a #####(fill in the blanks). What we do in our lives has nothing to do with hunting is just plain not true. We all have broken a law, I have stayed in the stand to long(etc). We are all not perfect, and all of us know were not. I just was pointing out the flaw in your logic. You can do what you want in your backyard, but when you hunt, you have different standard. As usual you blew it way out contest and wrote very, well for a lack of a better word, stupid response.
Those are great deer, one would really help your team. Poor Motown is all alone on your team. Get out there and help the guy!!!

****Note I edit because I made no sense and said something stupid!!! Thank Atlas for pointing it out to me!!

This is getting out of hand quickly;
First I fail to see where the number of posts a person has could possibly correlate to the validity of their opinion; you just have way more computer time available than I do. I know lots of wind bags who like to comment on everything; however, that doesn't mean they are anymore right or wrong than the next guy, they just like to talk a lot.
Secondly, I originally said "I HOPE your not..."; The way I see it, with the possibility of CWD becoming a very serious issue in NY; i feel its a poor choice to feed deer right now till we know how bad the problem is. Unless the deer are now dependent upon human supplimental feeding and are tame pets, they would move on if you stopped feeding them; especially this early in winter after they finished off your shrubs of course.However, my issue was with you not only feeding deer illegally; but the fact that you posted the evidence for your own prossecution as if you are above the law or something; and then when i confronted you on it you tried to lie and cover it up; then make excuses for it.
**If you had simply said "I know its illegal, but my landscaping bill is killing me..." I could have respected THAT, and just thought that you were crazy for posting the evidence. **
If you were ticketed tommorow for feeding deer, how would you plead? I hope you would own up to it and plead guilty. Hunters have enough problems in this Liberal state without more headlines about hunters / people feeding deer illegally.
Poachers, tresspassers ect... all have excuses and justifications for what they do and it still doesn't make it legal / right. Thats all i was saying. This could have played out a lot differently if you owned up to it instead of blaiming it on your bird feeders. Lastly, some of your comments were amusing, and by the way, I only know what i see you post here; and for you to post your own criminal activity is crazy. By the way, its legal to sit in your stand anytime you want; you just can't shoot before or after legal hours. Believe me, i know law.
Have a great day.

Well ethics are actually what "you" think are the doing the right and wrong thing, big difference because what you think may be good ethics may be piss poor ethics to someone else. Someone should make a poll on Atlasman's ethics, right or wrong, lol I'd love to see the results.

This is getting out of hand quickly;
First I fail to see where the number of posts a person has could possibly correlate to the validity of their opinion
Because you don't know anything about the people you are throwing opinions at........all the things you are griping about have been covered in this forum for years now..........stick around and learn a little bit about people here before you go assuming to know them or what they are about.

you just have way more computer time available than I do.
Sorry for owning a computer and a cable modem.

I know lots of wind bags who like to comment on everything; however, that doesn't mean they are anymore right or wrong than the next guy, they just like to talk a lot.
Nice of you to start off your presence in the forums by tossing insults at people you know nothing about......what did you say earlier about "Says a lot about someone's ethics"???

The way I see it, with the possibility of CWD becoming a very serious issue in NY; i feel its a poor choice to feed deer right now till we know how bad the problem is.
Are you gonna pay for the damage to my yard every year??

Unless the deer are now dependent upon human supplimental feeding and are tame pets, they would move on if you stopped feeding them;
Once again you don't know what you are talking about...........there is no where for them to "move on" to. Something that has been posted MANY times in the past and you would know if you had been here longer.

especially this early in winter after they finished off your shrubs of course.
Then what do you propose I do??.....Plant another $2,000 worth of shrubs and trees for them to eat next year before they "move on"?? or should I just live in an empty yard devoid of all vegetation???

However, my issue was with you not only feeding deer illegally; but the fact that you posted the evidence for your own prossecution as if you are above the law or something
Yea.......that's what I was doing ..........get a clue man. I was posting some pics of a nice buck on a forum where people like to see nice bucks. Anything else you dreamed up is your problem.

and then when i confronted you on it you tried to lie and cover it up; then make excuses for it.
Where did I lie??

**If you had simply said "I know its illegal, but my landscaping bill is killing me..." I could have respected THAT, and just thought that you were crazy for posting the evidence. **
Here's a hint fella.........like I said stick around awhile and you will learn more. I have said that numerous times for years now. You are just arriving in the middle of the movie and don't know what you missed.

If you were ticketed tommorow for feeding deer, how would you plead?
Not gonna happen.............my neighbor 2 houses down is a cop. He would have to stop his wife from doing it first

I hope you would own up to it and plead guilty. Hunters have enough problems in this Liberal state without more headlines about hunters / people feeding deer illegally.
Wow.........you are REALLY grasping at straws.

Poachers, tresspassers ect... all have excuses and justifications for what they do and it still doesn't make it legal / right. Thats all i was saying.
Yea.......it's exactly the same as that

This could have played out a lot differently if you owned up to it instead of blaiming it on your bird feeders.
When did I blame my birdfeeders?? You really should read more carefully.

By the way, its legal to sit in your stand anytime you want; you just can't shoot before or after legal hours. Believe me, i know law.
Have a great day.
Apparently you don't
To hunt—means to pursue, shoot, kill or capture (other than trap) wildlife and includes all lesser acts that disturb or worry wildlife whether or not they result in taking. Hunting also includes all acts to assist another person in taking wildlife.
When you are in your stand with a weapon you are hunting.........whether or not you shoot has nothing to do with it.

Go sit in the woods in the middle of summer with your shotgun loaded with slugs and see if a game officer cares when you say "I didn't shoot anything"
