Default Mosquito protection

The last 2 times I've been hunting, I had everything covered up except my eyes and I got eaten up around them. These mosquitos are ferocious. We have a serious West Nile problem around here, plus I don't want all these bumps around my eyes. What do I do? I have some "No Stinkin Bugs" fall blend but am afraid it will spook 'em. Any other suggestions. My bug suit has a hood, but I can't see well enough out of it, so I use a regular mesh mask with eye openings.

If you're not allergic to deet as I am use it. I've gotta go with the heavy netting and closed mask. Eastern Shore of MD is particularly bad this year.

I used the brand 'REPEL', with the earth scent, and it didn't seem to spook the deer at all, even when I was sitting in swirling winds as the barometer was dropping (i.e. pushing my scent downward) before a storm. I took my head net, sounds like we have the same kind, and put it in a zip lock bag and gave two squirts of Repel into the bag and let it sit overnight. When I opened it it smelled like I had a bag of dirt. Not a single Mosquito came near me that day, compared to the day before when they were all over my eyes and biting my ears through the mask.

Hey man you live in Memphis? After 10 years of living there I am prepared to ask the question, "what do you expect?" just kidding. Look the Repel earth scent sounds like a great idea and I will definitely try it. Recently though have done a lot of reading about the early mountain men in the beaver trade. Their definite cure was the castor from beaver. Believe it or not its something you can still purchase one place on line is http://www.bugspray.com/catalog/products/page576.html. Must warn you that after putting the stuff on you will not have to worry about 1. cover scent 2. love life. you will not need another cover scent....nor will you have a love life. I have skinned beaver and nicked the bladder that contains the castor. it is not a nice smell. it does however repel mosquitoes.

Hey, size may not matter but it sure IS nice!

I finally used the "No Stinkin Bugs" and it worked fairly well on the mosquitos. I had a few, though. I sprayed it directly on my face. I'll have to try the whole mask deal, though. I didn't, however, see any deer. Coincidence? Could be. I believe there were a few milling around before any light(I heard a few up and down wind of me), but come light enough to see my hand in front of my face, and they were gone. Maybe I'll try the Repel brand and see if that spooks 'em.

I hunt flooded flatwoods down here in central Florida and it is a serious problem. I wear rem-lite camo and a mesh head net. I spray everything with PERMANONE (camping section of Walmart) a couple of days before hunting. It really works!
