It's stupid to make them illegal. They are defects in the gene pool. I would drop him in a heartbeat. Then again, it would be hard to get another full body mount past the wife.

Piebald's are leagal in MI, but not all white. I think it needs to be 50 % brown to harvest it.

One good thing about Illinois is that it is against the law to shoot a albino deer. They are a protected species and should be every where.
Ignorance, just plain ignorance. #1 albinism is NOT a species , the whitetail in the picture is STILL the same whitetail as any other with a genetic defect. Would you call a deer with a long nose a "species" ? Good golly. # 2 why protect an inferior gentic animal ? Because it is pretty ? I guess you'd like to have all the "other" pretty animals protected too ?

Stupid stuff like this amazes me, it really does

Edited to add this note. Are you serious ? Who has time to calculate the percentage of an animals hide that is not the normal color ? Would you get fined for shooting a deer broadside that was brown and come to find out was solid white on the other side and a bit more - making it 55% albino ?

Are melanistic deer protected ? Double throat patch deer ? Deer with overbites ? Deer with long bodies ? Short bodies ? Deer that just plain look pretty ?

Where is hunting going with these stupid, stupid laws !

I've seen prettier deer. I saw one with some antlers and a red spot and a red spot on one side and a red hole on the other a few eeks ago.

Seriously....I don't think they're protected in NC. I'm no uncle-cousin....but I'd let the air out him in a minute. I don't own a full-body mount.
