RE: Albino Fawn (pics)
buckeyebuckhntr,
Your statement isn't quite correct regarding albinos in Wisconsin. It is legal to shoot an albino deer, as long as it is less than 50% albino. I wouldn't shoot one anyway, unless maybe it was a trophy. Then it would be pretty cool on the wall. |
RE: Albino Fawn (pics)
As far as I know it is legal to shoot an albino but I would call the conservation dept. to check. I wonder who his dad and mother were. I hope you havent shot them you may have the potential for more. All I can say is keep it to yourself or you will have everyone and their brother trying to kill that poor thing. If he gets bigger and you see him again i would be curios if they age the same.

What you are referring to as less thanall whiteis called "piebald". [/align] |
RE: Albino Fawn (pics)
There are also ones that are about 99% white that aren't Albino since they don't have the prerequisite pink eyes and nose and hoof.. So in some states that would be a legal kill and in others it wouldn't. I believe it doesn't matter if it is white or a true Albino in Illinois, they are protected.. I don't know when the piebald becomes brown enough to make it legal, never seen one, most likely never will but it would be interesting.

That wouldn't matter to some hill-jack country-bumkin. He ain't abidin' by now laws. He'll shoot it just to show it off to his hillbilly, inbred, uncle/cousin.
They are the SOB's that ruin it for the rest of us. ORIGINAL: Illinois Bowhuntin One good thing about Illinois is that it is against the law to shoot a albino deer. They are a protected species and should be every where. |

the albinoism doesnt effect anything like aging or physical size but it can effect the eyesight alot because there eyes cant tolerate sun.
