I had a friend just like that - You can't imagine how many huge bucks followed his drag scent to his stand and licked the bottom of his boots <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>.
If he is a close friend I would talk to him about it.
If he is more of a casual friend I would just grin and bear it.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH ALL. I WILL PROVIDE ONE THOUGHT THAT I HAVE LIVED BY ALL MY LIFE (45 YEARS) I WILL ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH REGARDLESS OF THE CONCEQUNECES. THAT WAY YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TRY TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU SAID.
MABE TELL THIS TO YOUR FRIEND IN PASSING. HE MIGHT HERE YOU.

There is a well known used car salesman in the Milwaukee area known as Joe Isuzu. In our camp, one who is known to stretch the truth automatically becomes "Joe". If he knows the story behind it, then the stories bend a little closer to the truth. If he doesn't, he is a bit red in the face when he asks "Why are you all calling me Joe?"
Subtle, but it works.
