Diesel....I appreciate it. My son has one on his Jennings, now.....and we'll put one on his new Illusion he's getting for Christmas. If I thought I could get it to perform as quietly as the one I have now....I'd switch back. I honestly would.

I'll try anything a time or two. I'll let my son's bow be the guinea pig....and we'll see what happens.

BTW.....he shoots 85 gr paoints and 200's out of his bow.....and he gets the same "noise".....lol

Jeff,

I'm not trying to argue with you. All I'm saying is this being your first year hunting Whitetail and your first year with a bow as well, it's hard to dismiss all theother possible reasons why that deer could havewent on alert especially at 9 yards.

I just can't believe you won't even entertain any otherpossibility.....it had to be the rest.I believe that as the years go by and themore time you spend hunting whitetails you will look back on this and realize just how many different thingstherecould have been that got you busted.

Good hunting to you and I wish you much success in the future. Ican tell by your posts that you arededicated to this andI have no doubt you will be successful.

Thanks:

As a former PGA professional and collegiate baseball player/avid duck & turkey hunter....I've had my share of equipment issues over the years. I truly belive...in my heart....that the biscuit was making noise that was putting them on alert (I never got 'busted'....just that the noise was alerting them, big time). If it wasn't the culprit...I'll never know. I just know my rest used to make SOME noise.....and now it makes NONE.

IfI have confidence in my equipment.....the experience is SO much better.

I'm glad you have confidence in your equipment. No one'sright or wrong. Win/Win.

Happy hunting....and happy holidays (MERRY CHRISTMAS).

Jeff

with a whisker biskut the arrow contacts the rest the whole way so you have to have a good fallow through. to let the arrow go where you want it to go. i figure that they work better for when you are staking animals, but if you are in a treestand i would go with a dropaway or a prong style rest.

My Friend shoots a whisker bisquit and his accuracy went down alot from what i saw. But he thinks it's just cause he doesn't use a release. But he never did before and he was great. So i guess you should just try things out and see what happens.

Good Luck

I got one when I bought my new bow, and I have not seen any drop in accuracy. I can shoot a pretty good group out to 50 yards and most of my shotsin the fieldare under 20 anyways.

IMO any rest that makes full contact with the arrow and all fleches is a poor design .When we set up our bows one of the main things we try to accomplish is the least amount of contact with the arrow. The more contact ,the less forgiving the bow will be.Never did understand why the WB was ever made. And why ppl buy them.
You'll never understand unless you shoot one.

Jeff most guys that shoot tournaments don't use their hunting bow either. I agree with the others that the bisquit is the BEST "hunting" rest made. Period. But to each his own, do what works for you

Diesel:

Hey...I DID!...lol (do what's best, for me).

When I had the "issue" with the biscuit....I switched to drop-away. I've lined the prongs with moleskin.....and it's STEALTH. When I come to full draw....the prong comes up and STAYS up until I release an arrow. So....I nock an arrow when I get in the stand....draw....let down....and I've got all the creature comforts of the WB....(arrow being secured)....and NONE of the noise.

Now.....If I had to hold my arrow steady.....and worry about it falling off the rest...or it not being held secure.....I'd weigh all that....and likely have kept my WB.

Now...I feel like I have the best of both worlds.

Merry Christmas.

Jeff
