Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, that to open one's mouth and remove all doubts...

real quick question guys....
I do not wear a safety harness because my stands are about 10 feet high, and are almost cages at the top. However, someone said that most ppl fall getting in or out of their stands. So what type of harness helps to prevent a fall to or from a ladder stand....Here is a picture of the stands we use...the only difference is that now the stand has a piece of metal attached to wood to make a sort of bench seat at the back, near the tree, that connects the two shooting rails. Any suggestions on what type of harness would help to safely enter and exit this type of stand.

Sylvansound reasoning, I agree.
My point was these people jumping on me whan A) I am not doing anything illegal B) I'm not breaking any rules and C) they likely have many more health problems than I do that are more critical in their live than a safety belt, yet they are trying to lecture me in safety ?
Please

i understand that it is not a good idea to hunt without a harness, however I do not use one. I dont think that myself or The Mind should be called names for it though. I at least know that I do not go around calling smokers idiots or any other names for their decisions.

Mind... I think most of all you have a problem with anyone telling what to do. You make excuses why you shouldn't use one. Being in better shape or health than someone else has nothing to do with your choice to not wear a harness. Just because your not breaking a law doesn't matter either. There's no law that says I can't do a lot of things that are harmful but I have a brain and try to use it. You never did answer if you have kids. If so would you want them to hunt without one.

For all of you that think you will hold onto the tree etc. forget about it, you will be on the ground before you realize you even fell.

I'm still waiting for him to post his pics. He professes that he is the studliest, heathiest bow hunter on the forum and we are just a bunch of fat ass, cigar smoking, allcoholics.
Personally, I took a fall rom about 6 feet. I broke my left shoulder and wrist and my right arm. It doesnt take much.
