Being 6'5", I really prefer a climber without a front bar. I hunt with a 37" ata bow, and if I want to keep the top low enough that I can take a 5 - 10 yard shot, my knees end up touching the bar. But anyway you go, the Summit is a great line of stands.

I have the Summit Viper X4 and wouldn't buy any other treestand now.The Viper has lot's of room in it ,so if the reason your going to the razor X is for room ,the viper has lot's .I was worried about the bar myself when i purchased mine ,I thought it might get in the way of bowhunting ,but it doesn't .This stand make's me feel so safe in it compared to my last couple treestand's .You won't go wrong with purchasing a Summit ,as far as I'm concerned they're the best stand in the market ,and for a little extra money ,you have the comfort ,safety ,and all the room you need for bowhunting. They also work great with the climbing stirup's ,which I don't think the 05's come with .Be sure to buy the stirup's they work great and save a lot of hastle.

I have had my Summit Python for 4 years now. I removed the front bar so it is essentially a Viper. I love that climber. Easy to setup and climb. Very comfy in the tree. I usually fall asleep in it everytime I go hunting. I am 6'-2" and weigh 240lbs and the stand is very solid in the tree. I would, and do, recommend a Summit climber to anyone.
Also, their customer service and warranty dept are second to none. Two weeks ago a small weld let go when I was climbing a tree. It was not a load bearing area so I wasn't worried about it. I called Summit the next day and had a new top in 5 days at my door with a return label for the damaged one.
Cougar, if you get me Razor for 50% off I will send you the money!!

I have the summit broadhead backpacker. It has the open front and folds completely flat. The folding was important to me as I regularily have my ATV in the back of my truck and need the stand to slid under it.
It takes a few minutes to setup at the tree, but like others have said they are EXTREMLY comfortable!

Another vote for the ViperX5....50% off! Thats a deal.
Heck, I'd buy 3 and sell them for a profit and pick up
something else thats on your X-Mas list

I love my summit. Ifi had to pick I would go with either the Goliath or viper. Reason being is that i like the concept of the razor but it seem like it would be a little to noisy.

I happen to know the woller clan personally, owners of summit specialties. They make a great product. There stands are easy to use, quit, and safe. So if you have the chance to get one at half price by all meens do so.
