RE: Who makes the best bow?
Well said NCBowHunter1969 just so happens i'm currently shooting a Parker, great company, good quality made bow no doubt! I'm not saying it's the best because i own it or it's better than anything out there but it certainly shouldn't be overlooked.

I don't think the brand is as important as the Specs on the bow... You want a bow that is within your level and works for you... Meaning IF you don't shoot a few times a week then you will want a bow with a high brace height... so it is easier to shoot and is more forgiving... and that might be your best bet anyway being that you are new to the compound world.... Personally I shoot matthews... they are smooth easy shooting bows, but you are going to have to go to the pro shop and see what feels good to you... Different bows are for different people... that is why there is so many... Good luck...

RE: Who makes the best bow?
There's just too many good manufacturers out there right now to pick just one as being the best. A bow that might work awesome for me might feel like crap in your hands. I shoot a '97 PSE Thunderbolt and it still works very well for me. I am looking to get a new one for next season though. I have links to several bow manufacturers web pages and it's quite difficult for me to pick which bow I like best.
Just my opinion but: I think that PSE, HOYT, and MATHEWS are probably the biggest names. Next you would have BOWTECH, MARTIN, DARTON, HIGH COUNTRY, and BEAR/JENNINGS. After that would be the companies that have strong followings, make great bows, but are just not as popular, DIAMOND, PARKER, MERLIN, REFLEX, ONIEDA, CHAMPION, et. My list is certainly debatable but that's just how I see it. I'm very intrigued by some of the bows from the last list. Like the MERLIN HUNTER QUEST and the DIAMOND HORNET.

RE: Who makes the best bow?
Thx for the feedback. I know it will be the one which fits best. I was intrigued by the Matthews commercial with "their bows win the majority of tournaments" sounds nice but they are proud of them.
Appreciate the feedback especially from MJL 927. Sounds its like Ford, Chevy or Dodge so to speak.
Hey, size may not matter but it sure IS nice!

S.Hunter,
Check out the Merlin bows.
Compare their limbs, limb pockets, grip, finish, and overall looks.
Compare them to any bow out there and see what you think.
Sure, I own a couple and think they're the best.
